In celebration of the Dharma and as a symbol of Kechara House’s strong reverence for H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and the teachings a brand new throne was recently ordered in from Nepal, for our main gompa in Kechara House 1. It just arrived a week ago and has been newly set up between H.H. 14th Dalai Lama’s throne and the main altar of Je Tsongkhapa.

In a Dharma context, what seems to be merely furniture and accessories carries a much stronger significance than what meets the eye. Elaborate thrones, carvings, and brocades are offerings towards both the Lama and the Dharma that he teaches. The throne represents the teaching of Dharma and offering beautiful thrones to our Lama is significant of our deep respect for the teachings and our wish to attain all the qualities that he embodies.
